WellSpan hospitals hosted Veterans Day ceremonies

Observing Veterans Day gives us the opportunity to appreciate the patriotism, contributions, and sacrifices of those who have served or continue to serve within the United States Armed Forces.

On Friday, WellSpan recognized veterans, retirees, reservists, and those on active duty by hosting ceremonies at each of its eight hospitals. The moment of recognition was designed for WellSpan team members, patients, and visitors who couldn’t attend Veterans Day events taking place in other locations across our communities.

“I have never worked for an organization like WellSpan that reached out to thank me for my service or acknowledged it,” said Maria Salayandia-Noullet, a nurse manager at WellSpan Philhaven. “The recognition itself has been a big deal to me.”

All WellSpan ceremonies commenced at 11 a.m., with participants gathering around each hospital’s flagpole. The observation was led by WellSpan team-members, and included a flag raising, invocation, and remarks from WellSpan senior leaders.
