The health and safety of our patients and employees remain our top priority as we continue to manage COVID-19 cases in our communities. Effective Wednesday, February 10, due to the decline of positive COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations across south central Pennsylvania, WellSpan facilities will allow visitation of one family/support person for inpatient, emergency department, clinic visits, and outpatient locations per stay.

Under the revised guidance, obstetrical patients will continue to be able to have one birth support person accompanying them throughout their admission and care. This person must be age 18 or older (unless they are the parent of the baby) and are in good health. For pediatric patients, two healthy parents/guardians will be allowed in the unit at a time and they are approved for the entirety of the hospitalization.

For patients undergoing outpatient surgery, testing, and for patients with a primary care or specialty care appointment, one person may accompany the patient into the facility while the procedure or care visit is being completed.

At this time, visitors are not permitted at WellSpan’s COVID-19 vaccine locations.

WellSpan Health will continue to screen all family/support persons who wish to enter any facility, and no one with COVID-19 symptoms will be permitted to enter. Everyone entering the facilities will also be required to wear a mask.

Safety remains our top priority. We will continue to track the number of positive COVID-19 cases in the community and adjust our visitation policies as needed to protect our patients and our teams. We recognize the difficulties the limited visitation policy presents to families and we continue to provide virtual visitation for those that can't be with loved ones during these trying times.

If you are experiencing non-emergent health issues, please consider seeking care at a convenient WellSpan Urgent Care location. Also, patients are encouraged to use WellSpan Online Urgent Care to be seen quickly and safely, without the need to travel to a care location. Patients can visit www.WellSpan.org/OUC to get started.

To protect yourself, your family, and our communities, remember simple, effective steps to stay safe and stop the spread of COVID-19 in our communities:

Limit gathering sizes – even small gatherings carry big risk.

Avoid eating or drinking in groups.

Follow masking and social distancing guidelines.

Wash your hands and use hand sanitizer.

When you have the opportunity, get the COVID-19 vaccine.
