WellSpan Health is expanding access to non-emergency care for residents in York County, opening an urgent care center in Manchester to offer fast care in a location that is convenient to our patients.
The center is located at 4050 N. George St. Ext. in Manchester in the East Manchester Village Center and adjacent to the Giant grocery store.
“The whole idea of our urgent care centers is to offer high-quality care in locations that make sense to our patients leading busy lives,” said Thomas McGann, M.D., executive vice president for clinical practice, WellSpan Health. “Patients that need fast non-emergency care in the Manchester area no longer have to drive to York to get it.”
It is the sixth WellSpan Urgent Care in York County and No. 13 across central Pennsylvania. Other York County locations include: West York, East Market Street in York, Hanover and Shrewsbury and a location on South Queen Street in York that opened in Sept. 2019.
All WellSpan Urgent Care locations in York County are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, caring for patients age 3 months and older suffering from sore throats and coughs to rashes and burns. X-ray services are also available at these locations.
WellSpan Urgent Care patients can take advantage of an online service called “Reserve My Spot,” which allows them to choose a time slot that suits their schedule. This can be done via smartphones, computer, tablets or at an in-person check-in kiosk at the office.
“Our patients understand that there are certain medical concerns that don’t require a trip to the emergency room,” said Creston Tate, D.O., WellSpan medical director of urgent care. “WellSpan Urgent Care centers can provide the top-notch care patients need in non-emergency situations. The ‘Reserve My Spot’ service is just the icing on the cake in terms of saving time.”
