Cathleen and Terry Jones: 79 and 78, of York, both retired
Why I chose to get the vaccine:
Cathleen: “Because we’re seniors and we need protection from this virus. I think it’s the right thing to do.”
Terry: “It’s necessity, something to protect you against this disease. It’s silly not to get it.”
What I am looking forward to:
Cathleen: “To see my grandkids again! I can’t wait. I just can’t wait. We Zoom with them every week, but it’s not like holding them in your arms.”
Terry: “Just going out and enjoying the beautiful weather. We are going to eat out. We like the Round the Clock Diner.”
What I would say to someone who has not yet gotten vaccinated:
Cathleen: “At first, I said I’m not going to get the vaccine. The more I read up on it, the more I understood it. I would tell people to get it. Our immune systems are not as strong as they were when they were younger. We need all the protection we can get.”
Terry: “You shouldn’t even think about it. You should just get it.”
