Lung cancer screening to be discussed

Wednesday, October 09, 2013

Experts in diagnosing and treating lung cancer will take part in an interactive discussion about lung cancer screening during a program offered at WellSpan York Hospital, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Apple Hill Medical Center, 25 Monument Rd., York.

Recent studies show improvements in the early detection of lung cancer through low-dose screening CT scans that may positively impact the management of lung cancer. The pros and cons of this testing will be shared as well as other details and information about smoking cessation.

This presentation is designed for those between the ages of 55 and 74 who currently smoke or have stopped in the past 15 years. There will be an opportunity to speak with a surgeon. Refreshments will be served.

Registration is required. To register, call 1-800-840-5905 or 851-3500.

About the provider search

This search will provide you with WellSpan Medical Group and Northern Lancaster County (Ephrata) Medical Group primary care physicians and specialists. If we don’t have a WellSpan Medical Group physician to meet your criteria, the search will expand to include community physicians who partner with WellSpan Medical Group physicians through the WellSpan Provider Network or provide care to patients on the Medical Staffs of WellSpan’s Hospitals.
