Bike Hike slated for Sept. 15

Monday, August 26, 2013

The 18th Annual York Cancer Bike Hike will be held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, at Indian Rock Elementary School.

A butterfly release is also part of the event. You, a group or a family may purchase a live butterfly to release in honor or in memory of a loved one. A release ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. A volunteer will release the butterfly.

The cost is $25 per butterfly. The deadline to request a butterfly is Friday, Aug. 30. You do not have to be registered for the Bike Hike to participate in the butterfly release.

The event benefits the York Cancer Center Patient Help Fund and the Cancer Screening and Outreach Fund. Participants can bike or walk five or 10 miles on the scenic Heritage Rail Trail.
