NOTE: New employee orientation is virtual.  All new employees will receive information from their recruiter about the orientation process for day 1. If you are a transfer, please work with your unit manager and/or educator regarding day 1.

Welcome to WellSpan Health! We are happy to have you on the journey with us! We are so glad that you can join our unique rewarding nursing experience for your future at WellSpan Health.  That is our “journey” hope for you!

Our goal is simple – provide quality nursing care to our patients. We are often challenged in the delivery of quality nursing care but believing that we can accomplish this through a spirit of collaboration and teamwork is key. This requires us to focus on the needs of our patients and work as a team, not only with other nurses, but also with other department, physicians, disciplines, and each other. The priorities are patient satisfaction and safety, staff satisfaction, performance improvement, and appropriate use of resources. Open, honest, and respectful communication is promoted in the nursing department.

On day 2 of your “journey” with us, you will report to the address that was in your welcome letter sent to you by Organizational Learning and Development. If you have any questions, please reach out to your clinical orientation advisor that you have been working with.

Attire

WellSpan is a professional working environment and therefore employees are expected to dress accordingly. If your department requires you to wear a uniform while on duty, you are welcome to wear that to orientation. Jeans, shorts, tank tops, flip flops, sweatpants, and tightly fitted clothing are not allowed. Questions about appropriate dress code for your department can be directed to your manager, whose name and telephone number are listed in your offer letter.
