Clinical Hours

Individuals seeking a clinical experience must be enrolled in a health care degree program at a college or university. The clinical rotation must be required for your program of study in order to graduate. Fall, spring, and summer semesters are available.

Non-Clinical Internships

Individuals seeking non-clinical internships at Summit Health must currently be enrolled in a degree program at a college or university. The internship must be required for college credit and pertain to the individual's current program of study. Internships are available base on need within the department and may be available during Fall, Spring or Summer semesters. Individuals will be asked to provide a current resume in which the department will review and consider for any possible internship positions.

Nurse Intern Program

The Nurse Intern program provides the student nurse with an opportunity for extended clinical practice. The relationship with the RN partner enables the Nurse Intern to integrate previous learning in the delivery of nursing care and learn the nuances of the RN role from a clinical role model.

Students must complete two full semesters of direct patient care, Associates Degree and BSN students are eligible. A minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA is required for acceptance and must be maintained throughout internship. You must be a student in good academic standing.

Summer Work Experience

You must be a college student in good standing currently enrolled at a college or university who is planning to apply to medical school and become a doctor (M.D. or D.O.). This is a 4 week summer experience. The purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for premedical students to work in a hospital, specialty and family practice settings, in order to gain a better understanding of the various facets of health care.

Provider Resources must receive the application and supporting materials no later than Friday, February 22, 2019, at 4:00 p.m.
