Healing Arts Community Galleries

WellSpan Health recognizes that the arts can have a powerful effect on a patient’s experience and on the healing process. Art can serve as a touchstone for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. To that end, WellSpan has partnered with local arts organizations to establish Healing Arts Community Galleries in a number of our patient care locations. The artwork in our galleries is rotated throughout the year, allowing our patients, visitors, staff and community to enjoy changing artwork from various artists.
Studies show that the presence of art in a hospital setting can have positive impact not only on patient wellbeing and satisfaction, but also on health outcomes such as length of stay in a hospital and pain tolerance.
