WellSpan Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Clinical Rotations Online Application

Welcome Students!

WellSpan Health is proud to be a teaching institution and is committed to providing quality student experiences by offering Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Physician Assistant (PA) clinical rotations. Because we receive a high volume of requests it is our goal to be as fair and consistent with each application we receive.

To serve you best, please keep in mind – this application is designed strictly for students enrolled in a formal NP or PA program; students enrolled in other programs such as CNM, CNS, CRNA, or in a dual track, etc., should not be submitting this application.

Due to the continued high need for NP clinical rotations, our priority is to first place WellSpan employees. Currently, we are not accepting applications from non-WellSpan employees that are in Family or Adult Gerontology NP programs.


  1. Student submits the formal WellSpan Health NP and PA Clinical Rotations online application
  2. Application is received and reviewed by NP-PA Rotations Team --- Incomplete applications will not be considered
  3. Application is forwarded to preferred areas of interest as stated on application --- Please be specific with preferred rotation, exact dates, and total number of hours needed
  4. The NP-PA Rotations Team works with preferred sites directly (as stated on application) on applicant's behalf --- Students or school representatives are not to contact potential preceptors or areas directly to inquire about status or decision
  5. NP-PA Rotations Team will follow up with student directly regarding outcome of decision --- It may take 12 weeks or longer so we advise you to plan accordingly


  • Requests for 2018 are no longer considered
  • Only ONE application overall will be accepted regardless of where you are in your educational program --- not one application per semester
  • We will only consider requests for actual clinical rotations and NOT for required courses that involve clinical hours
  • Submission of application does not guarantee clinical rotation
  • Please acknowledge that you have read and understand the WellSpan Commitment to Community Health & Wellness (below)

If any of the steps above have not been followed accordingly your application will be disregarded

About the provider search

This search will provide you with WellSpan Medical Group and Northern Lancaster County (Ephrata) Medical Group primary care physicians and specialists. If we don’t have a WellSpan Medical Group physician to meet your criteria, the search will expand to include community physicians who partner with WellSpan Medical Group physicians through the WellSpan Provider Network or provide care to patients on the Medical Staffs of WellSpan’s Hospitals.

If you don't have a WellSpan primary care provider and would like to schedule a new patient appointment with a provider who is accepting patients, just log into your MyWellSpan account, and go to the Appointment Center section. As you progress through the scheduling process, you will be able to see the offices that are accepting new patients in relation to your zip code. If you are not enrolled in MyWellSpan, go to https://my.wellspan.org, call 1-866-638-1842 or speak with a member of the staff at a participating facility to sign up. New patient scheduling not available at all practices/programs.

As you progress through the scheduling process, you will be able to schedule an appointment with any provider or practice that already counts you as a patient. Online scheduling varies by practice/program.
