Since 2013, WellSpan Health has been accredited by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Program (AAHRPP). Accreditation reflects WellSpan Health's commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of research participants.
There are currently more than 200 IRB-approved research studies underway across the organization. In addition, we partner with government, industry and universities by participating in a variety of research studies in areas such as oncology, cardiology, orthopedics, emergency medicine, trauma, pulmonary, neonatology, and behavioral health. We regularly participate in studies on therapies, diagnostic testing, new drugs and devices.

Emig Research Center
Emig Research Center provides research support and education for WellSpan Health and promotes an environment of clinical inquiry that supports innovation, the highest standards of care and the practice of evidence-based medicine. Staff are available to assist WellSpan researchers in the development of their own projects.

WellSpan Health York Hospital Clinical Research Volunteer Application
Students who are interested in medicine and clinical research are encouraged to apply to the WellSpan Health York Hospital Clinical Research Volunteer Program. The ideal applicant is an undergraduate, post baccalaureate, or first year medical student with a strong academic record aspiring to attend or complete a graduate program in a medicinal or other related field (e.g. psychology). The application period is open January 22, 2019 – February 15, 2019. Five applicants will be selected to participate starting September 1, 2019 with the understanding that all volunteer requirements are completed prior to the start date.
This search will provide you with WellSpan Medical Group and Northern Lancaster County (Ephrata) Medical Group primary care physicians and specialists. If we don’t have a WellSpan Medical Group physician to meet your criteria, the search will expand to include community physicians who partner with WellSpan Medical Group physicians through the WellSpan Provider Network or provide care to patients on the Medical Staffs of WellSpan’s Hospitals.×

If you don't have a WellSpan primary care provider and would like to schedule a new patient appointment with a provider who is accepting patients, just log into your MyWellSpan account, and go to the Appointment Center section. As you progress through the scheduling process, you will be able to see the offices that are accepting new patients in relation to your zip code. If you are not enrolled in MyWellSpan, go to https://my.wellspan.org, call 1-866-638-1842 or speak with a member of the staff at a participating facility to sign up. New patient scheduling not available at all practices/programs.
If you already have a relationship with a WellSpan practice, simply log into your account, and go to the Appointment Center section. As you progress through the scheduling process, you will be able to schedule an appointment with any provider or practice that already counts you as a patient.
