This live-virtual workshop is brought to you by our WellSpan Philhaven Center for Spiritually Integrated Care. Open to all mental health professionals, including and not limited to Psychiatrists, APPs, nurses, social workers, psychologists, counselors, marriage/family therapists, and chaplains. World-recognized author and professor, Dr. John Swinton will explore mental health from the perspective of lived experience and offer a new perspective on healing that can enable providers to practice confidently even in the midst of difficult experiences. After participating in this workshop, attendees will be able to:

1.     Describe the lived experience of people living with severe mental health challenges (Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Depression) 

2.     Explain the importance of discovering the meaning of mental health challenges for effective practice. 

3.     Recognize the important meaning dimensions of their practice (psychopharmacology, counselling, friendship enablement, etc.) 

4.     Recognize the significance of spirituality for their practice. 

3 CEs WellSpan Philhaven is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. WellSpan Philhaven has pre-approval from the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Work Examiners to sponsor continuing education credits to Pennsylvania Licensed Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Professional Counselors. WellSpan Philhaven maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Full participation required to receive continuing education credits.
