This class is a 7-week course designed to incorporate resistance training using various equipment, such as dumbbells, resistance bands, body weight, stairs, etc. This class is made for everyone, with modifications to all exercises, if necessary. It will last 45-60 minutes per session and is designed as a circuit. The circuit will consist of 6 stations, where the exercises will target all major muscle groups of the upper and lower body. The participants will engage in a group aerobic-based warm-up session followed by 30 seconds of training, followed by 30 seconds of rest, as they transition to the next station within the circuit. During the fourth week, the interval will increase to 1 minute of work to 30 seconds of rest, which will increase the intensity of the course. The participants are able to self-select their beginning weights for the resistance equipment and are encouraged to challenge themselves and progress themselves within the stations weekly. The session will conclude with a 5-minute group cool-down/flexibility portion. Virtual participation is available.
