Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:

I believe the reason many people choose to pursue the healthcare field is to be in a position to help people, and that is what I enjoy. I want to assist people in achieving the best health they can while allowing them to make choices. Growing up, I saw how ones in the medical field wanted to improve people's health. I want to be patients' advocate as well. I love family practice and the many varied challenges each day brings! I frequently state patient issues can be two-piece puzzles or 1000-piece puzzles; and I enjoy putting all of the puzzles together. I am grateful to have had the encouragement and support of my family as I continued my education.

What I want my patients to know about me:

Patients can expect that I will listen to their concerns, complaints and questions and provide them with the best advice and options I can in order for them to make the best choice for their health. My goal is to provide choices and explanations which patients can easily understand. I believe it is important to be a patient advocate. Patients need to be honest as that is the only way I can the best care possible. There are times when I ""run behind"" as I do not want my patients to feel rushed when they have concerns and questions. However, I also request that my patients respect other patients as well as my staff when it comes to time constraints and behavior.

What I do when I'm not seeing patients:

I love to go on Christian Healthcare trips helping people less fortunate. This is an extension of my Christian faith. I also love to garden, be outside, read and do handcrafts including sewing when I have time. Of course, I love puzzles. I even enjoy fishing and shooting those groundhogs that enter my garden--hahaha! We are European soccer fans and cheer for the Navy football team in the Army-Navy game. My husband and I enjoy DIY projects. I look forward to traveling with my husband. I enjoy spending time with our family.
