Resuming of Non-Urgent Procedures & Surgeries

Ongoing Consolidation and Temporary Suspension of Services at WellSpan Health Facilities

During the rapidly evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we continue to take appropriate measures to meet the healthcare needs of our patients, while protecting the health and safety of our patients, staff and visitors, and preventing further spread of COVID-19.

This includes postponing non-urgent procedures and appointments – purposefully reducing the volume of visits to our medical group ambulatory practices –which has resulted in the need to further consolidate services, revise hours of operation, and temporarily suspend services in some practices.

As of April 8, many WellSpan medical group ambulatory practices are now serving new and current patients through modified hours, from alternative locations, and with digital options like video visits. A few have temporarily suspended all services.

Providing high-quality care for every member of our community remains a top priority, and we will continue to welcome new patients and provide care to our current patients. In-person services will be provided based on the urgency of an individual’s clinical need and in line with Governor Wolf’s stay-at-home decree. We will continue to leverage alternative digital approaches like video and e-visits for home-based care, which have proved effective for many in our community.

Patients who have no emergent health needs and are either confirmed or suspected by a healthcare provider to have COVID-19 can visit one of the dedicated locations for non-emergency treatment of their health concerns listed here or utilize WellSpan’s digital healthcare options, like Online Urgent Care, video and e-visits.

Only impacted patients, those for whom services are being canceled or postponed, will be contacted directly. They will be contacted in the order by which they are scheduled and prior to their appointment.

You can contact your medical office or visit MyWellSpan to check on the status of your appointments.

Ambulatory Services

The earlier postponement and consolidation of many non-urgent ambulatory and community services has now resulted in the temporary suspension of services at certain WellSpan Health ambulatory facilities. By close of business on March 31, 2020, many WellSpan ambulatory facilities will operate with revised hours of service, and others will suspend all services for the time being.

While some WellSpan Imaging, Lab and Rehabilitation facilities are maintaining their current hours of operation, others have adjusted their hours of operation beginning March 30, 2020. Please visit WellSpan.org/Rehab; WellSpan.org/ImagingSites; and WellSpan.org/LabSites to check current hours of operation for those facilities or visit our Schedule Changes page to see COVID-19-related updates.

Research Studies

Following recommendations from federal agencies, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, WellSpan Health is making changes regarding clinical research studies. In an effort to protect our communities, all face-to-face interactive studies are either being modified to virtual communication or paused entirely to prevent contact among participants and staff.
