I Want to Donate Masks

Yes! We continue to invite contributions of fabric masks. Fabric masks will be needed for months to come. Hand-made fabric masks slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others. Non-clinical staff, patients and visitors, and people of high risk in our community will benefit from your generosity.

You can provide masks in the following ways:

  1. Purchase materials and use the Hand-made fabric mask pattern (with improved instructions)
  2. Sew fabric masks using pre-cut material kits. These are available without cost from WellSpan mask-drop off sites. Materials generally come in kits of 50 thanks to a partnership of Mennonite Disaster Service volunteers and Goods Stores.

  3. Return finished masks to the WellSpan donation drop off sites at any of the following locations. (Some donation locations and hours have changed, so please review carefully.)

Thank you for helping WellSpan to provide safe and quality healthcare!

I Want to Give Food

We are so appreciative of our community’s overwhelming generosity and the willingness to provide food to our care team. We also recognize that local agencies and partners need support feeding neighbors and the most vulnerable in our communities. If you wish to donate food, we ask that you consider working with community social service agencies like food banks and shelters.

Please read the food safety guidelines when considering a food donation.

I Want to Give Blood

Patients still need your help during the COVID-19 situation. Some community blood drives have been canceled, but demand is still in the community. If you are well, donating blood is safe and needed.

  • Blood donation is not a social gathering
  • Donation sites use good infection control
  • Only healthy individuals are advised to donate blood.

If you are not feeling well, please do not come in to donate. If you have had contact with a person known to have COVID-19, please do not donate for 28 days.

If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19, please do not donate blood for 28 days after your symptoms have resolved.

People Who Have Fully Recovered from COVID-19

WellSpan Health Blood Donor Services is seeking people who are fully recovered from the new coronavirus to help current COVID-19 patients. People who have fully recovered from COVID-19 have antibodies in their plasma that can attack the virus. This convalescent plasma is being evaluated as treatment for patients with serious or immediately life-threatening COVID-19 infections.

You may qualify to donate plasma for coronavirus patients if you meet specific convalescent plasma and regular blood donation eligibility requirements. Donations will be made at WellSpan Health Blood Donor Services in York and Lebanon.
