Eisenberg -Mark -FINAL-SOLID WellSpan Heath has earned the 2019 John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety & Quality Award from The Joint Commission and the National Quality Forum. We celebrate our 20,000 employees who worked together to make the many innovative changes necessary to create life-saving results for our patients.

This award honors efforts to prevent deaths from sepsis, a condition when the body's response to an infection injures its own tissues and organs.

Dedicated to patient safety, the expert nurses on our Central Alert Team monitor real-time data to detect sepsis early and start immediate treatments. Combining early detection with high quality care innovations, we have saved more than 350 patients – and still counting!
