Removing Barriers to Services Needed to Stay Healthy
WellSpan believes everyone deserves access to the healthcare they need. We understand that financial barriers exist, and that is why we offer financial assistance and charity care programs. In 2021, WellSpan provided $11.7 million in charity care.
Patients with income less than or equal to 300 percent of the federal poverty level are eligible for a 100 percent discount on services provided. Currently, the Healthy Community Network program offers financial support so that more than 2,200 uninsured or underinsured clients can readily access the healthcare services they need to stay healthy. Financial support, along with increased access to telehealth options, provided better access to healthcare for more people during the pandemic. Homeless shelters in our community received electronic tablets so their residents could receive remote physical and behavioral healthcare. These are all just some of the ways in which WellSpan Health lives our mission to care for all people in our community.
