June 18, 2016 - Double Creek 1 mile, 5K or half marathon.

June 25, 2016 - Habitat for Humanity 5K.

July 16, 2016 - East Berlin Summerfest 5K. 

August 27, 2016 - York Rail Trail 10 Miler. 

September 5, 2016 - Quarterback Club of York 5K & 10K.

September 17, 2016 - White Rose 5 Miler.

October 8, 2016 - David Tome Memorial 5K.

Double Creek Runners

Whether your goal is to improve your time or just to enjoy some healthy competition, the WellSpan Running Series will help you get there. For new and experienced runners alike, the WellSpan Running Series is a perfect opportunity to work towards your goals while supporting local non-profit organizations.

All athletes in both adult and youth categories who complete six of the seven runs will receive a participation award. There are also awards for the top male and female finishers in 13 age groups.

Here, you will find registration forms and key information for all runs in the series.

  • Rules & Regulations

    1. All individuals will participate in the age group throughout the series based on their age as of 6/18/16.

    2. All participants that complete six of the seven* series races will receive a participation award.

    3. Points will be awarded in each age group, male and female, for each race based on the table below. The participant with the most points in each age group, male and female, at the end of the series will be the age group winner. The second and third place finishers in each age group will also receive awards. In the event of a tie, the two runners will be scored on a “head-to-head” basis.

    1st place = 20 points
    2nd place = 19 points
    3rd place = 18 points
    4th place = 17 points
    5th place = 16 points
    6th place = 15 points
    7th place = 14 points
    8th place = 13 points
    9th place = 12 points
    10th place = 11 points
    11th place = 10 points
    12th place = 9 points
    13th place = 8 points
    14th place = 7 points
    15th place = 6 points
    16th place = 5 points
    17th place = 4 points
    18th place = 3 points
    19th place = 2 points
    20th place = 1 point

    4. The age groups, male and female, for the series races are as follows:

    14 and under 15 – 19
    20 – 24
    25 – 29
    30 – 34
    35 – 39
    40 – 44
    45 – 49
    50 – 54
    55 – 59
    60 – 64
    65 – 69
    70 and over

    5. To qualify for an age group award, the runner must have competed in a minimum of five races.

    6. Participants must register for each race separately using the above registration forms. There is no separate registration to participate in the WellSpan Running Series. Participant’s successful completion of one or more of the races will serve as an entry into the series.

    7. Any errors in scoring should be reported to Dave Dill via email at ddill@wellspan.org.
    *Participants can complete either the half marathon or 5K at Double Creek.

  • Racer Etiquette
    1. Number goes on front (never on your back!).
    2. Men racing without a shirt need a number on front, not on your hip.
    3. Do not fiddle with your tearaway until you cross the finish line.
    4. Runners who have finished, do not go back and run towards the finish line again. Do not stand within 50 yards of the finish line. You can encourage other racers while keeping clear of the finish line.
    5. Stay in single file line through the chute - no passing, no going out.
