Runners

Run a Half Marathon The half marathon route will start on a paved path inside Rudy Park, loop through the front soccer fields and continue along a scenic section of the Heritage Rail Trail. You will run along the Codorus Creek and continue for over 11 miles on the new Northern Extension of the trail, which is considered one of the most scenic areas in York. As you run, keep an eye out for bald eagles and other wildlife. All half marathon finishers receive medals.

Walkers
Participate in the “Prescription for Caring” Walk. If you prefer a leisurely walk, you will start right after the 5K run starts and walk on the paved path leaving the park to the trail. Turnaround will be at Crist Park. You can choose to stay on the paved path for a distance of 2.5 for the walk, or loop in the field for a true 5K walk.

Cyclists
Our cycle route experts have been hard at work to create new cycle routes, which also incorporate some of our favorite areas from the past. We will offer a 10-mile, 25-mile, 50-mile and 62-mile course for cyclists. Cyclists start their journey from 7 AM to 8AM. Enjoy a cooler start time and have plenty of time for rest stops and food at the finish line.

About the Double Creek Event:

Double Creek was established in 2003 to provide support to programs that benefit underinsured families. All money raised will benefit WellSpan’s Prescription for Caring program, which provides medications to uninsured patients, underinsured patients, and those who are insured but are struggling with multiple healthcare issues and life circumstances.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event will be used for the Prescription for Caring program. This past year, 90% of those served had $30,000 or less in household income. This pharmacy program provided more than 15,000 free life-sustaining medications to patients without insurance. Your participation in Double Creek helps these patients stay healthy!
