Family First Health

Family-FirstIn 2009, WellSpan partnered with Family First Health to establish a federally qualified health center (FQHC) in Gettysburg. The FQHC provides primary health care services to uninsured and underinsured residents, which accounts for 15 percent of the county's population. The community health center accepts nearly all insurance plans, including Medical Assistance and Medicare. Individuals who do not have insurance may receive care at a reduced fee which is based on income.

Healthy-Adams-CountyWith a long-standing goal of creating healthy and vibrant communities, WellSpan partners with individuals and organizations to assess local needs, build community assets and sponsor initiatives.

In Adams County, WellSpan partners with Healthy Adams County and its 20 workgroups and more than 650 volunteers. Healthy Adams County tackles issues such as medical and dental access, health literacy, physical fitness, affordable housing, Latino outreach, children's health, infant crib and car safety, teen pregnancy and tobacco prevention.
