WellSpan Health announces new board leadership roles for its North Region

Jeffrey Kapsar, board chair (left) and Amanda Kessler, vice chair (right) were recently appointed to leadership positions in WellSpan's North Region Board of Directors for 2025.

New board chair and vice chair appointments headline changes to the WellSpan Health North Region Board of Directors for 2025. Jeffrey Kapsar, who previously held the position of vice chair in 2024, has been named the new board chair. Amanda Kessler has assumed the role of vice chair.

“Jeff has a keen understanding of the needs of our community and how we can best position our system to meet those needs,” said Kendra Aucker, senior vice president of WellSpan Health’s North Region and president, WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital. “I know that this board is focused on its goals so that we may continue to provide high-quality care that aligns with our mission.”

The WellSpan North Region Board of Directors is a volunteer governing board serving WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital. Members are elected to three-year terms, with officer terms lasting one year.

New board chair: Jeffrey Kapsar, president chief executive officer and vice chair, Mifflinburg Bank & Trust

Kapsar is a graduate of Slippery Rock University. He serves on the Federal Reserve Bank Community Depository Institution Advisory Council; as vice chair of the PA Bankers Association Group 4; as a member of the Salvation Army “Here. For Good” annual campaign committee. A member the Evangelical Board of Directors since 2016, and chair of the hospital’s finance committee since 2018, he brings extensive financial and auditing experience.

New board vice chair: Amanda Kessler, Esq., chief executive officer and general counsel, Synergy Grandview Pharmacy, Inc. and president of Nottingham Village Healthcare Services, Inc.

Kessler is a graduate of Bucknell University, William & Mary Law School and New York University School of Law. She serves on the board of directors of the Northumberland National Bank where she is a member of the audit, compliance and risk management committees. She has served on the Evangelical Board of Directors since 2012.
