"We’re thrilled to be named among the nation's top ambulatory surgery centers yet again by Newsweek for 2024," said Niki Hinckle, senior vice president of WellSpan’s west region. "Our team of providers and staff are dedicated to delivering exceptional care to every patient, and their hard work is what makes WellSpan one of the best in the nation year in and year out."
"Our team at the WellSpan Apple Hill Surgical Center are some of the most talented healthcare providers in the country," said Victoria Diamond, senior vice president of WellSpan’s central region. "This recognition is a testament to their incredible dedication to our patients."
In partnership with Statista, Newsweek analyzed thousands of Medicare-certified ambulatory surgery centers encompassing various surgical specialties, including orthopedic surgery, cardiac surgery, eye surgery and spinal surgery. They also surveyed an expert panel of healthcare experts including nurses, therapists, physicians and surgeons, ranking the facility in terms of quality of surgery preparations, quality of surgical care, quality of follow-up care and management of waiting times.
Newsweek's list spotlights more than 550 facilities within the 25 states with the most ambulatory surgery centers, including Pennsylvania. These are facilities where patients can have specific surgical procedures performed that often don't require hospitalization. They base their rankings on recommendations from medical professionals and a thorough analysis of the facilities' performance data.
