Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare
"Just like I said during my medical school interviews, I like science, and I want to help people. The biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology inside us is fascinating. I like to learn what a patient's goals are for their care. Then I apply the sciences to meet the patient's goals."
What I want my patients to know about me
"I don't like prescribing pills and ordering tests. Yes, I do prescribe a lot of pills, but I don't like it. I would prefer to try lifestyle changes to promote good health. Unfortunately, that doesn't always work as well as we hope. I'm glad that we have so many medications and diagnostic tests available, but I'm happiest when a patient feels better after simply talking through a situation."
