As an employee of WellSpan Health, you already know about how vast the career opportunities are in the health care industry. You could work in a clinical or non-clinical setting, have direct contact with patients, handle patient inquiries over the phone or work in the back office. The job opportunities are endless.

Perhaps you've been working in a non-clinical role and want to go back to school for nursing, or maybe you're already a medical professional and want to move into an administrative role. WellSpan is proud of the many programs and opportunities that are in place for employees who are interested in expanding their knowledge base and for those who would like to explore other careers in the health care industry.


Education Assistance

WellSpan offers educational assistance for qualified employees.  Our programs include:

  • Tuition Reimbursement

    Eligibility and Program Details:

    • Full-time, part-time and PRN status employees working at least 32 hours per pay period and meeting expectations or higher in overall performance rating are qualified to receive tuition reimbursement after competing the employment introduction period.

    • Employees must receive a final passing grade or a Certificate of Completion for the course.

    • College credit courses must be related to current hospital duties or for an academic degree meeting educational requirements of WellSpan Health position(s). 

    • Institution must be accredited by Pennsylvania Department of Education. 

    • Reimbursable amounts are tuition only. Books, materials, lab fees, computer fees, registration, etc. are not reimbursable.

    • Reimbursable amounts are calculated based on the number of hours worked and the cost per credit, up to a per credit maximum.

      • Full-time (70+ hours per pay period): 85 percent of per credit charge to established maximum
      • Part-time (32-69 hours per pay period): 50 percent of per credit charge to established maximum

  • Forgivable Loan Program

    For select positions where there is a shortage of applicants, WellSpan may offer a Forgivable Loan/Sponsorship Program. Through this program, Wellspan will pay tuition and related expenses directly to the school on behalf of the student/employee.  These payments to the school will be excused on a month-to-month basis after the employee has completed the program and is working at WellSpan in the specific position for which the loan was approved.

    Individuals interested in this program, must complete a formal application, be sponsored by one or more members of WellSpan's leadership team and be approved by a reviewing committee.  For more information about this program, please contact human resources at (717) 851-2327.

  • Bev Malloy Nursing Scholarship

    The Bev Malloy Memorial Nursing Scholarship is available to all WellSpan Health staff members who have been employed a minimum of one year at acceptable performance and behavioral levels. It also is available to volunteers who have been with WellSpan Health in that capacity for one year.

    The $2,500 scholarship is a perpetual memorial to Bev Malloy, a dedicated nurse, nurse recruiter and community servant.  The scholarship funds are specifically designed for nursing. Applicants must:

    • Demonstrate joy, kindness, compassion and love in his or her interactions with others through work, volunteerism and community service.

    • Articulate a special or concentrated interest in nursing involving direct patient contact in a hospital or health setting.

    • Be committed and willing to serve the York and Adams communities.

    The application is updated annually and will be available at the beginning of May.

About the provider search

This search will provide you with WellSpan Medical Group and Northern Lancaster County (Ephrata) Medical Group primary care physicians and specialists. If we don’t have a WellSpan Medical Group physician to meet your criteria, the search will expand to include community physicians who partner with WellSpan Medical Group physicians through the WellSpan Provider Network or provide care to patients on the Medical Staffs of WellSpan’s Hospitals.
