Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I pursue this fantastic field of oncology to allow me as a physician to use high-tech, have frequent patient contact, and be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. The field is very data- and trial-driven, and new developments are occurring at a breakneck pace. I am constantly walking down the hall to discuss a case with my medical oncology or radiology colleagues, or on the phone or meeting in-person at tumor boards with my surgical (and other) colleagues. We are more than a set of guidelines when it comes to patient cancer care. I enjoy delivering the highest standard in my field.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I'm board-certified and spent one year at Lyon Sud Hospital, France as a radiation oncology resident. I joined the radiation oncology department of Eastern Virginia Medical School as a post-doctoral fellow and completed my PhD dissertation. I completed an internal medicine internship at Mercer University Medical School in Macon, Georgia. I completed my radiation oncology residency at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and served as chief resident and clinical instructor at the Radiation Oncology Department. I completed a fellowship at the Seattle Prostate Institute, Seattle, WA.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I enjoy watching movies, travel abroad and explore different countries, enjoy time off on the beach and fishing with my wife, two kids and friends. I am actively involved helping other underdeveloped countries to get better radiation oncology standard.
