Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I have always wanted to help others. At the young age of 6, I heard a missionary speak about Nepal. It was then I decided to go into a helping career. During high school, I was torn between social work or nursing. My experience as a "Volunteen" (part of a national volunteering organization for middle school and high school students) and a Red Cross volunteer steered me toward nursing. I have never regretted my career choice. I love primary care and family medicine. It gives me the chance to care for patients over the entire lifespan and work with families, as well as individuals.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I am honest, transparent, compassionate and am doing my life's mission. I like to read, when I get the chance.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I love to spend time with my husband, my grown sons, and their partners and my adorable little granddaughter. I love the mountains and escape to our mountain getaway whenever possible. My husband and I used to hike and kayak a lot, and are making some lifestyle choices to get back to doing these things.
