Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I knew I wanted to pursue a career in health care since I was a candy striper volunteer at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, in Towson, MD, at the age of 14. While at GBMC, I enjoyed helping people, providing comfort and assisting the nursing staff, which has carried over into my career today.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I have been a nurse and now a nurse practitioner at WellSpan York Hospital for 30 years. I started my career at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in the surgical step-down unit before moving to Columbia, MD, where I worked at Howard County General Hospital in the coronary care unit. I have been married to my husband for 35 years. We raised three boys and have two grandchildren (our pride and joy) who live in the area. One of my sons and his wife work at WellSpan too.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family including my husband, children, grandchildren, parents and keeping up with friends. My hobbies include gardening, traveling, cooking, reading, watching sports (University of MD, Penn State, Baltimore Ravens, Washington Capitals and Baltimore Orioles) and exercising.
