Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I grew up surrounded by family members who worked in medicine. My role model is a pediatrician whom I've known since I was little. I wanted to be exactly like her "when I grew up," and my love for children helped guide me to work as a pediatric ICU nurse. As a nurse, I desired to follow my patients throughout their lives and see how they were. Unfortunately this is not possible. My passion to follow my patients throughout life and help them be the healthiest they can be is what guided me to practice family medicine.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I value your time and try to stay on time. I strongly encourage patients to take an active role in their own health. I take pride in educating patients about disease processes and encourage them to know as much about a disease/diagnosis so they they can make sound decisions regarding their own health care.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I love being outdoors and staying active when I have free time. Running and hiking are my favorite things to do in the spring and fall. Lake activities, such as water skiing tend to be my summer past times. I love traveling and exploring places I have never been.
