Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I wanted to be a doctor from the age of three when I had pneumonia. My doctor had made me feel better, and I wanted to help people feel better. I pursued specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to practice medicine holistically. I enjoy empowering patient in lifestyle change and in taking personal responsibility for their healing process.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I am a Reiki, meditation and Colorpuncture practitioner with extensive training in mindfulness, introspective and relaxation practices. My ultimate goal is to use my integrative health background to impact population health for chronic pain patients through patient education for self-care and wellness.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
When I am not seeing patients you may find me teaching hot yoga or enjoying cultural dance. You may find me combing my love of art and music while figure drawing at First Friday Jazz. I love to teach and share healthy lifestyles through writing self-help books, videos and CDs. You may see me mentoring high school students, with my sorority sisters at community volunteer efforts or on a hot date with my husband.
