Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I chose a career in medicine because it combined my interests in working with people, teaching and scientific inquiry.
What I want my patients to know about me:
Working as a hospitalist, I understand that patients are often seeing me at a time when they feel they have little control over what is happening to them. I want them to know that I view them as a partner in their care and will do what I can to help them understand what is happening. I feel honored to be able to work with patients in helping them reach their health goals.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I spend much of my work week as a Physician Informaticist, working with our Information Services teams on figuring out how we can better use of clinical information systems to care for patients.
