Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I have always loved science. I was working in a chemistry lab for a pharmaceutical company and enjoyed the work but missed working with people. I chose to pursue a medical career in order to fulfill both of these passions. I enjoy using scientific research to educate and help patients live their most healthy lives.
What I want my patients to know about me:
As an osteopathic physician, I rely on the philosophy of osteopathic medicine. The tenets of osteopathic medicine are: The body is a unit; the person is a unit of body, mind, and spirit. The body is capable of self-regulation, self-healing, and health maintenance. Rational treatment is based upon an understanding of the basic principles of body unity, self-regulation, and the interrelationship of structure and function.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I enjoy spending time with my husband and dog. We enjoy hiking some of the great trails around York. I also enjoy playing piano and reading mysteries.
