Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine:
I have always loved working with children as well as the elderly. Both populations are reliant on others, and they require a lot of caring and understanding. Helping people who cannot advocate for themselves is very rewarding work. Working in hospitals at the bedside for many years, I was always amazed at how resilient and kind people can be, even in the face of very grave situations.
What I want my patients to know about me:
Most days I sing in the car before and after work because I have the best job in the world! I am so lucky that I get to help kids every day. Most parents want the best for their kids, and my goal is to guide them with education and collaboration. I see all of my medical knowledge as a tool to be shared with other people, empowering them to make good decisions for themselves and their families.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I love classic literature, and my "to read" pile is never empty. I have an arts background and love to work on creative projects. We also love to cook, run, hike, travel, scuba dive and spoil our two cats.
