Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
When I was growing up, I always wanted to be a doctor. I loved science, and biology was my favorite class in school. Physiology and anatomy fascinated me. I also loved working with people, a love that was strengthened by my time spent as a Girl Scout and a dance teacher. Medicine seemed like a natural career choice, and I went on to study biological sciences at Cornell University and then medicine at New Jersey Medical School.
What I want my patients to know about me:
As a breast surgical oncologist, I think it is important to treat the whole person. A diagnosis of breast cancer can affect multiple aspects of a patient’s life, and I do not believe that my job is over once the surgical treatment is complete. I am here to help coordinate the multidisciplinary care that a patient often needs while going through treatment and to help navigate survivorship.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
If I am not working, I am spending time with family and friends. I love to explore new cities. I also love biking, cooking, reading, and traveling. Florida is a favorite vacation destination.
