Injured: Now What?

If a concussion occurs, you need to take the post-concussive test 48-72 hours after the injury.  If your school participates with ImPACTTM, your athletic trainer will administer the test.  After  completion of the test, the athletic trainer will review the results and determine if additional follow up is necessary. 

If your school or club does NOT participate with ImPACTTM, please call WellSpan Sports Medicine at (877) 482-5420 to schedule an appointment. The test is offered at the following locations:

Upon completion of the test, a trained medical professional will review the results and determine if additional follow up is necessary. Should follow up be required, WellSpan Neurology will contact you to arrange a consultation at WellSpan Pediatric Neurology.

If you have not taken the baseline test, ImPACTTM has norms that can be used to evaluate the recovery process of a concussed athlete.

About the provider search

This search will provide you with WellSpan Medical Group and Northern Lancaster County (Ephrata) Medical Group primary care physicians and specialists. If we don’t have a WellSpan Medical Group physician to meet your criteria, the search will expand to include community physicians who partner with WellSpan Medical Group physicians through the WellSpan Provider Network or provide care to patients on the Medical Staffs of WellSpan’s Hospitals.
