When you come to your first appointment, it is important to arrive early to complete necessary paperwork. A standard assessment will be completed focusing on presenting symptoms, mental health and substance abuse history, family history and identification of additional life stressors. At the end of your first session, you and your treatment provider will discuss your goals for treatment and recommendations will be made regarding level of care (outpatient, intensive outpatient or inpatient), type of therapy (individual or family) and frequency of treatment.
