How is the number of patients waiting calculated?

The number of patients waiting represents patients that have checked in at the urgent care facility, but have not yet seen a provider. It is both patients in the waiting area and patients in a treatment room that have not yet started their visit.

Values can be influenced by many factors and should be considered estimates only.

The sleep technologists at WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital Sleep Center diagnose and treat people with sleep disorders to improve their quality of life. The facility features the latest technology for the diagnosis and treatment of a range of neurological and respiratory sleep disorders. Located at the WellSpan Adams Health Center, the Sleep Center has homelike diagnostic suites, each equipped with a television and VCR/DVD, queen sized sleep number bed and private bathroom with shower.

Each evaluation consists of placing small electrodes on the surface of the scalp, face and legs for recording of sleep patterns. This is completely safe and painless. Patients are cared for and evaluated by highly trained polysomnographic technologists who monitor brain wave activity, airflow, body movements, heart rate and blood oxygen saturation.
