Dental Care for Every Patient

Well-being consists of more than just regular doctor visits. We believe it is a holistic view of each individual person. Oral health is a piece of this picture and an important part of treating the whole body. Routine cleanings and preventative care can save a person from experiencing pain and problems down the road. We highly encourage all our health system patients to have regular dental check-ups.

Our dental centers offer routine cleanings, implants, crowns, root canals and other dental work. For those with limited financial means, our offices provide a modest fee schedule and participate with a wide variety of insurance plans and medical assistance programs. Additionally, our practices have walk-in hours for emergency dental care.

For patients who are especially fearful of dental work we offer nitrous oxide and medication to reduce anxiety. Our Hoodner Dental Center has a specifically designed room to accommodate bariatric and special needs patients. Our team will accommodate where possible and offer care in a compassionate and respectful environment.

Conditions Treated

How We Can Help

Routine Cleanings

There are several parts to a routine cleaning. A physical exam begins the appointment to look for any potential concerns. Following this is the removal of plaque and tartar using a scaler and dental pick. Lastly, toothpaste cleaning and flossing is done.

Dental Implants

Implants replace a permanent tooth with an artificial one. These are natural looking and do not affect the teeth bordering them.

Restorative Dentistry

Fillings use a material to fill a cavity after it has been removed. The tooth decay will be drilled out, cleaned and then filled with a specific type of material. The material type (tooth colored or silver) depends on where the tooth is and doctor preference.

Periodontal Therapy (Gum Care)

Gum care is restoring diseased gum tissue to health through different methods. This always takes place during the plaque and tartar removal portion of a routine cleaning. However, it can take other forms when there are larger gum problems.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns fit over and replace the entire part of a decayed tooth above the gum line. Two crowns are used together to form a bridge and replace a missing tooth. A bridge is used to treat teeth that are broken or decayed so much they cannot be fixed through fillings.

Cosmetic Procedures

These include tooth whitening, veneers and bonding. Cosmetic procedures range from semi-permanent to permanent changes.

Mouth Guards

Mouth guards protect the mouth and teeth from grinding or dental injuries from sports.

Dentures and Partial Dentures

Dentures can replace all your teeth (complete) or some of them (partial). These false teeth are only created when deemed necessary and require as much if not more care as regular teeth.

Root Canal Treatment

A root canal treatment is done when decay will likely damage or has already killed a tooth. A dentist or endodontist will remove the pulp from the center of the tooth and fill the cavity to prevent an infection.

Extractions

Tooth extractions occur when a tooth has been severely damaged and needs to be removed. Local or general anesthetic will be used in the procedure and you may need stiches after.

Emergency Dental Treatment

When trauma occurs to a tooth, emergency dental services may be needed. Our dental centers have urgent care hours to care for sudden problems.
