The Anticoagulation Clinic provides supportive services to patients requiring coumadin therapy. Coumadin (generic-Warfarin) is one of the most commonly prescribed anticoagulant medications. Coumadin is used to offer protection from the development of a blood clot and protects against heart attack and stroke. Coumadin is often used for patients who suffer from clotting disorders, patients who have undergone heart valve surgery or other complicated surgical procedures, or patients who suffer from an irregular heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation.

The following services are available through the Anticoagulation Clinic:

  • In-depth, one-on-one, education by a cardiac registered nurse

  • Finger stick INR testing to measure the effects of coumadin, eliminating the need for blood drawn from the vein

  • Proper dosage adjustment and recommendations based on blood work results

  • Thorough ongoing educational services Close follow-up

A physician referral from your primary care physician or cardiologist is required for the Anticoagulation Clinic.

About the provider search

This search will provide you with WellSpan Medical Group and Northern Lancaster County (Ephrata) Medical Group primary care physicians and specialists. If we don’t have a WellSpan Medical Group physician to meet your criteria, the search will expand to include community physicians who partner with WellSpan Medical Group physicians through the WellSpan Provider Network or provide care to patients on the Medical Staffs of WellSpan’s Hospitals.
