Overweight and obesity are major risk factors for chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, as well as orthopedic conditions.
More than 65 percent of Americans are overweight or obese. The obesity rate continues to rise with more than one in four Americans having a body mass index (BMI) over 30 and hundreds of thousands being considered morbidly obese with a BMI over 35.
To combat this trend, the Wellness Center provides comprehensive weight management services to meet the needs of our community. Whether you need a modest weight loss, nutritional education for a particular condition, or assistance with an ongoing struggle with severe obesity, we can help you determine which strategies will be most effective in achieving your weight management goal.
