Open daily for appointments, practice offers improved access for parents as new state vaccination requirements for school-age children become effective
WellSpan Pediatric Medicine – East Market Street in Springettsbury Township, is now offering walk-in care hours to increase access to its personalized, high-quality pediatric care. The practice, which opened its doors to patients this spring, is already open seven days a week.
Walk-in hours are now Sundays, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“We are very excited to offer walk-in care to our patients to improve accessibility,” said Kelly Curtin-Hallinan, D.O., pediatrician, who practices at the East Market Street office. “We understand that a lot of families are busy, parents work. Children get sick when parents least expect it, and we believe this will help families get access to great care when they may not be able to schedule an appointment during standard office hours.”
Curtin-Hallinan also noted how the new walk-in care hours are available at a great time for parents, due to recent changes in Pennsylvania’s immunization requirements for school-age children. Under the new statewide requirements, all school-age children must obtain all their required vaccinations within the first five days of school.
Curtin-Hallinan and other doctors and advanced practice clinicians across WellSpan are urging parents to contact their child’s primary care provider as soon as possible to ensure every child is vaccinated before the start of the school year. Parents who are unsure of the requirements or which vaccines their child may need are also urged to call.
The practice is accepting new patients. Those seeking immunizations as walk-in patients must have their immunization records on hand upon arrival.
WellSpan Pediatric Medicine – East Market Street is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
