As the general population continues to live longer and more active lives, individuals are experiencing more orthopedic injuries.

These injuries could be breaking an ankle from slipping on the ice, dislocating a hip from a fall or blowing out a knee playing a game of pick-up basketball.

Recognizing the growing need for orthopedic care in the community,  WellSpan will officially open the York office of WellSpan Orthopedics on Monday, Aug. 31.

With an initial team team of six, fellowship-trained specialists, the practice will be located in Suite 290, Apple Hill Medical Center.

“We worked hard to recruit top talent to this practice and we have succeeded in building a strong team of surgeons who will focus on providing personalized patient care,” said Melissa Mook, administrative director for WellSpan Orthopedics.

“We look forward to introducing the new physicians to employees, providers and the community in the coming weeks and months.”

The six physicians include: John Deitch, M.D., director of sports medicine; Thomas DiPasquale, D.O., FACO, FAOA, director of orthopedic trauma services at York Hospital; John Ingari, M.D., who specializes in hand and upper extremity surgery; Hassan Mir, M.D., who specializes in orthopedic trauma, adult reconstruction and general orthopedics; Paul Muccino, D.O.,who specializes in orthopedic trauma and general orthopedics; and Mark Richardson, M.D., medical director.

The office also includes a team of four experienced certified physician assistants.

“All of the physicians have impressive backgrounds and bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the practice,” said Mook.
