Following your acceptance into a WellSpan CPE Intern Program, WellSpan Health Volunteer Services will contact you to provide onboarding instructions and completing necessary requirements. This includes some items that may require you to pay a fee ($).
To ensure that our patients, employees and students are protected against communicable diseases, Interns need to provide immunization records for measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox and tuberculosis, as well as a urine drug screen, all of which needs completed within 30 days of the start of the school/program. WellSpan also requires a mandatory flu vaccination if an Intern will be completing their internship any time from Oct. 1 through Mar. 30.
Prior to the start of an internship, applicants must provide necessary clearances. If you have been a resident of Pennsylvania for the past consecutive 10 years, you will be required to provide a Pennsylvania State Criminal Background and U.S. Department of Human Services Child Abuse Clearance. If your home address is outside of Pennsylvania or have not been a resident of Pennsylvania for the past consecutive 10 years, you will be required to have a FBI fingerprint/Cogent background check.
($) Fees will vary depending on immunizations, drug screenings and/or background checks needed.
