York Health FoundationSpecial EventsThe York Health Foundation manages many special events held within WellSpan Health. The purpose of all Foundation fundraising events is to increase awareness of the mission and charitable purpose of the York Health Foundation and the event beneficiary, to promote the organizational priorities of WellSpan, to produce substantial positive net proceeds for the charitable WellSpan beneficiary of each event, and to positively enhance the awareness and public role of WellSpan within the community. The Double Creek Event will be held on June 19, 2010 at the North Salem Elementary School. This event benefits the Healthy Community Pharmacy, and is an opportunity to bike, run, or walk. Charity Motorcycle Ride will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010. This event will benefit "Cribs for Kids" and the Gettysburg Health Foundation's children's health fund. This is an event for both riders and non-riders, and will feature entertainment by Kryton City Blues band and lots of great food. The Cancer Center Bike Hike, which will benefit the Cancer Patient Help Fund, will be held on September 19, 2010 at Indian Rock Dam Elementary School. The event is from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, but you must register before 2:00 PM the day of the event. The WellSpan Golf Tournament will be held at Regents' Glen Golf Course on Monday, September 20, 2010. Again this year we will offer a special rate to WellSpan employees. This event benefits the York Hospital Simulation Center, and palliative care and dialysis equipment. This event benefits the VNA Hospice/Home Health Services, and is an opportunity to play tournament Monopoly and win great prizes.
