Gynecology and Urogynecology

Gynecology

With the region's most experienced obstetricians/gynecologists, certified nurse practitioners and certified nurse midwives, WellSpan is able to provide individualized care to meet the special health needs of women throughout south central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland.  We offer a full range of obstetric and gynecologic services through York Women's Health Center and Adams County Women's Health.

Adolescent Gynecology
WellSpan understands that teenagers have unique health care needs.  That is why we offer a comforting alternative to young women during the transition from childhood to adulthood.  The Adolescent Gynecology Program is for girls age 12-19 who need gynecologic care for menstrual problems, PMS, developmental disorders and issues such as contraception, or the first gyn exam and pap smear.

Gynecologic Oncology
Gynecologic cancers, which affect the cervix, uterus, ovaries and uterine lining, pose a particular danger to women because they rarely display symptoms until it is too late. York Gynecologic Oncology provides women who have unique cancers with evaluation, medical treatment and, if needed, surgery. Our program is supported by the York Cancer Center, an accredited community cancer program affiliated with the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins and the Adams Cancer Center.

Urogynecology

Urogynecology is a subspecialty of gynecology and urology that evaluates and treats pelvic and rectal abnormalities.  Through Urogynecology, WellSpan offers consultative evaluation along with medical and operative management to women who experience loss of bladder control, difficulty urinating, pelvic support disorders, difficulty defecating, pelvic pain and vulvar disorders.
