Physician Billing Services
Physician Billing Service is a centralized billing service, which bills for WellSpan Medical Group practices. From listening to our patients, we have learned that insurance and health plans can be very complicated and hard to understand - especially when it comes to filing claims so your visit is covered or properly paid. We are trying to make that easier.
You are not only a patient, but a partner in your health care. Please:
- Understand the benefits your insurance health plan provides for physician office visits. While our staff is familiar with some common plans, it is your responsibility to know what services are covered. If you are unsure, check with your employer or call your insurance company.
- Present your insurance or health plan card at each visit.
- Know whether your doctor, as a member of WellSpan Medical Group, is a participating provider with your insurer or health plan.
- If you are a member of a participating plan at the time of your visit, be prepared to pay any co-pay amount and for any non-covered services.
- Your insurance company will tell you if you owe additional payment for deductibles or coinsurance.
- If you are a member of a non-participating plan, we will be happy to file your claim for you. However, you are responsible for paying for services at the time of your office visit. For your convenience, we accept checks, cash, money orders, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. You are responsible to follow-up with your insurance company for payment.
- Please remember, we file all insurance and health plan claims as a service to you. However, if we are a non-participating provider with your insurance or health plan, you are responsible for following up on claim payment with your insurance carrier.
