Orthopedics
At WellSpan, our measure of success is the same as yours: to return patients to maximum function as quickly and as safely as possible. To reach this goal we enlist a comprehensive approach to the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries.
At York Hospital, Gettysburg Hospital and Apple Hill Surgical Center, orthopedic surgeons, nurses, physician assistants, and various medical support personnel work together to care for problems associated with the foot and ankle, hand and upper extremity, joints, spine and sports injuries.
Our outpatient rehabilitation sites, which are conveniently located across York and Adams counties and in Thurmont, Maryland, feature highly skilled rehabilitation specialists, who employ advanced techniques to restore function and maximize the clinical outcomes of our patients.
New Specialty Hospital to open in 2011
Anticipating an increased need for rehabilitation and orthopedic services in the coming years, WellSpan will construct a new 73-bed rehabilitation and specialty hospital on the Apple Hill Health Campus in York Township. The state-of-the-art facility will include 48 beds dedicated to rehabilitation and 25 beds and four operating rooms for orthopedic patients. The project is expected to be complete in mid-2011.
