WellSpan Health Radiography Program

Radiography - A Career

Radiographers are healthcare professionals who are educated in the use of ionizing radiation and work in a technically advanced, ever changing environment. The radiographer's predominate responsibility is the performance of x-ray examinations under the direction of a physician, usually a radiologist. They also assist radiologists in fluoroscopic examinations and in special radiographic procedures. Their responsibilities encompass delivering excellent patient care while performing high quality radiologic exams utilizing radiographic equipment, computers, and other imaging tools.

Radiographers are exposed to a variety of patients, ranging from outpatients to the critically injured in a trauma setting. Individuals interested in pursuing a career in radiography should possess compassion, superb interpersonal skills, and the desire to work with advanced technology.

Program Description

WellSpan Health Radiography Program offers a 23-month hospital-based certificate program which is accredited by the JRCERT. This program is for individuals who are interested in pursuing training in radiologic science. The students will receive a quality education, along with hands-on clinical experience.
