What type of books do we accept for the sale?
We accept paperbacks and hardbacks that are in good used or new condition. We also accept magazines. We do not accept National Geographics, encyclopedias, textbooks, or any books that are damaged, water stained, or with any mold or mildew damage.
We also sell music and movie items and puzzles at the sale. If you have DVDs or CDs that you would like to donate, or puzzles and children's games in great condition, you can donate them with your books.
Even though we do not take National Geographics, encyclopedias or textbooks, we know of another area group will take them. They can be reached at 880-9402 or 225-4487.
Recycling: We get lots of questions about what happens to the books at the end of each year's sale. Any books that are unsold are removed at the end of the sale by a local charity agency and used for other purposes. During the year, we work with the York Rescue Mission, and we recycle at our warehouse every week. We are pleased to work with another area charity to make sure that all materials that cannot be used for the sale are used by another organization to benefit the community.
