EMS Academy
The EMS Academy is an accredited pre-hospital emergency medical services training center based out of York Hospital. York Hospital is the region's leader in advanced specialty care. In addition to being named a top 100 hospital seven times, York Hospital is home to the York Hospital Heart Center, a Level I trauma center, and the region's only Primary Stroke Center. York Hospital is a nationally recognized teaching hospital with seven residency programs, five allied health schools and other training programs.

The York Hospital EMS Academy will be the single leader in education throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, by consistently providing high-quality, professional, patient-focused health care education.
Mission Statement
The Mission of the York Hospital EMS Academy is to:
- Be a provider of high-quality, professional, patient-focused health care education that is readily accessible, cost effective and meets the needs of the communities we serve;
- Plan, coordinate and conduct special workshops, conferences, seminars, and other unique education/training programs to enhance the skill, knowledge and ability of EMS professionals throughout the Commonwealth and region;
- Develop global plans and programs for the education and training of the EMS workforce in cooperation with government agencies, professional associations and academic institutions; and
- Conduct research and provide input for quality assurance, performance improvement and the State of Pennsylvania's EMS Protocols.
